You may have noticed new ADS-B-based landing fees appearing at airports across our region. There are currently 65 airports in Angel Flight West’s service area charging these types of fees, and we’re working to make sure our volunteer pilots aren’t paying them when flying AFW missions.
Vector and its Planepass platform now automatically include an Angel Flight West waiver in their agreements with new airport clients, helping us get these fees waived. We also work directly with airports when needed to make sure fees are waived for AFW missions.
To make this work, we need your help to keep our records up to date. Please make sure we have the correct aircraft, tail number, and airports recorded accurately on each mission leg and in each mission report. Having accurate information is important because we need the correct aircraft, tail number, and airports for each mission in order to identify the flight and have the landing fee waived.
And, If you do receive an landing fee invoice after flying an AFW mission, please contact us before paying it. We’ll work with the airport or fee provider to get it waived whenever possible.
Thanks for keeping your information up to date and helping us make sure these fees don’t become an added cost of flying AFW missions.
