FBO/Airport Fee Waivers - AFW

  • Do FBOs waive Landing fees for AFW missions?
    • Landing/parking fees are waived at most airports and FBOs for Angel Flight West (AFW) missions. For some airports, the FBO will waive the fees if you say you are flying an AFW mission. For others, we have a prearranged agreement where your fees are waived when the FBO receives an automated document from VPOIDS.
  • Do airports that charge landing fees waive them for AFW missions?
    • AFW works directly with multiple airports and Vector to facilitate landing fee waivers.
  • How do I know if the airport/FBO I am flying to waives landing fees?
    • If you don’t know if an FBO/airport will waive a fee, or you want to find out about fees for your upcoming mission, please contact the FBO/airport directly. If they say they can’t waive the fee, please contact the coordination team at (310) 390-2958 or volunteerinfo@angelflightwest.org.
  • What documentation is required to waive an FBO’s fee?
    • If an airport or FBO requires documentation to provide a discount/waiver, the coordination team will generally provide this documentation proactively in advance of your flight.
      • If the FBO requires documentation to be left with them, please inform them of the sensitive information and treat the documents with care.
  • What do I do if I incur a fee?
    • Please contact the office at (310) 390-2958 or volunteerinfo@angelflightwest.org if you incur a fee so we can inquire about having the charges reversed. We always do our best to make sure the airports and FBOs used by our pilots are AFW friendly.
  • Will I get a fuel discount?
    • Most FBOs provide some fuel discount for AFW missions. These discounts vary from $.10 to $1 per gallon. AFW does not track these discounts as they fluctuate with fuel prices.
