How to contribute a commercial flight or ride-share for passengers

There are times when you might not be able to physically volunteer for a mission. It might be due to your personal schedule, aircraft availability, or other reasons. If you can't fly as a Command Pilot or drive as an Earth Angel, but you would still like to make a direct impact on a patient's need for travel - consider donating a commercial airline ticket or a ride-share service (like Lyft or Uber) to a specific patient. You would be providing transportation to the patient, and indirectly contributing to our Passenger Assistance Fund so that we can save another mission.

If you are an active Command Pilot:

  • Request a mission as a Command Pilot. Once you have been assigned the mission, please connect with the patient and book a commercial airline ticket that fits the transportation request. If you need help connecting with the patient, please advise the coordination staff. Be sure to (1) forward the itinerary and flight information to the patient and (2) advise the assigned Earth Angel of the changes.

If you are an active Earth Angel:

  • Request a mission as an Earth Angel. Once you have been assigned the mission, please connect with the patient and Command Pilot and advise that you are providing an Uber or Lyft. On the day of the mission, once you have requested the Uber or Lyft, be sure to (1) forward the ride-share driver information to the patient and (2) forward the estimated time of arrival or departure to the Command Pilot if applicable.
